Possible Timeline

September 30, 2019: Plans and specifications for dam replacement project will be issued for bids
 
October 21, 2019: Bid opening at 2PM at Oakland County Water Board office lunchroom. Public is welcome.
 
November 2019: Informational meeting to discuss project, to present assessment rates, and to present the option to pre-pay the assessments to save on interest expense

December 2019: (Day of Review) The Oakland County Water Board will advertise and mail a first class notice for the day of review. This notice will include information indicating the amount of the assessment for each property within the lake level assessment district. Residents will be able to come to the Water Board office any time during normal business hours to review their assessments and confirm the accuracy of their assessments.

January 2020: (Oakland County Board of Commissioners meeting) The Oakland County Water Board will present the plan and ask the Board of Commissioners for approval of the project cost and special assessment roll. Also, the Water Board will request the Board of Commissioners to approve the Full Faith And Credit resolution to provide the County’s backing of the construction loan.
 
February 2020: Once the Oakland County Board of Commissioners approve the project cost and special assessment roll, as well as the Full Faith and Credit resolution, financing must be obtained for the project. Prior to this step, the Water Board will need to know who plans to pre-pay their assessments, so that the Water Board will know how much it will have to borrow.
 
March 2020 (possibly): The contractor will start the project.

June 2020: Most work will be completed by June 2020, other than the landscape restoration.
