Huron Lakes LLC will be harvesting weeds along the entire lakeshore of Upper Straits Lake from July 22nd-July 25th, 2019, “weather permitting”.
Last year, weed harvesting removed over 185,000 pounds of bio-mass (weeds) from the lake so this is an important step in our weed management process.
To further support our organized efforts at weed control, we encourage everyone to consider the following:
- Natural shorelines as opposed to seawalls
- Fertilizers with 0% phosphate and slow release nitrogen
- Washing down boats and trailers prior to entering the lake
- And, of course, donating to USCLA if you aren’t already
