Notice: Upper Straits Lake Community
Wednesday, July 10th, a herbicide treatment to combat invasive weeds is scheduled to occur on specific lake shorelines.
Pesticides to be used have all been approved by the Environmental Protection Agency, Michigan Department of Agriculture and the Michigan Department of Environmental Quality.
Lakefront property owners in the treatment areas have signed permission forms in accordance with Michigan DEQ requirements. Please watch the shoreline for the posting of YELLOW signs, which will indicate the day of treatment, exact pesticides used and the water use restrictions depending on the pesticides used.
Water use restrictions apply only in the treatment areas below:
- No swimming or bathing for 1 dayNo household uses, irrigation, animal watering for 7 days
- No household uses, irrigation, animal watering for 7 days
