BEACH BUSINESS
Bayside Beach Opening Day – SATURDAY, MAY 1, 2021 @ 9AM
Bayside Beach Association’s treasurer and membership chairperson will be on hand at the beach from 9AM to NOON to collect dues (per the amount indicated on the enclosed statement/registration form) and to hand out gate keys.
PLEASE OBSERVE ANY COVID-19 RESTRICTIONS! Wear facemasks! Socially distance!
PLEASE UPDATE YOUR INFO on the registration form, especially your phone number(s) and birthdays!
Dues are as follows:
- Regular membership dues $300.00 (includes 2 keys)
- Retiree membership $ 50.00 (includes 2 keys)
- Mooring dues $200.00
- Extra keys* (up to 2 extra) $ 3.00 per key
Each membership is limited to 2 “free” keys (cost included in membership dues) and 2 extra keys for a total of 4 keys. The cost for each extra key is $3.00. REMEMBER: ONLY 4 KEYS MAXIMUM PER MEMBERSHIP!
- No cash will be accepted. Please make your check payable to Bayside Beach Association.
- If dues are not paid by June 15, 2021, a late fee of $25.00 will be assessed.
- For those who will be paying mooring dues, payment is due before or on May 1, 2021.
- There are limited work hour assignments available for opening day chores.
- ALL WATERCRAFT, WHETHER MOTORIZED or NON-MOTORIZED and WHETHER MOORED AT/ON THE BEACH or NOT, MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THE MOORING CHAIRPERSON.
- Many members registered their boats, jet-skis, paddle boats, paddle boards, kayaks, canoes etc last year. If you have not yet registered your watercraft with Bayside Beach Association, registration forms will be available on opening day. Also, members may request registration forms from Jeff Parko by writing to him and forwarding your request to him at 4444 Welland Drive West Bloomfield, MI 48323. If you use/store more than 1 watercraft at the beach, the cost of the first registration decal is included in your dues payment. However, there is a minimal fee of $5.00 for each additional decal.
- AFTER JUNE 1,2021, NON-REGISTERED WATERCRAFT of any kind WILL BE REMOVED FROM THE BEACH!
- IN ORDER TO PROCURE YOUR BEACH KEY(S), MEMBERS MUST FIRST SIGN UP FOR WORK HOURS.
- Some members have already signed up for their hours (at the March general membership meeting, accessing the work hour sign-up sheet on the beach website, or by contacting Dean Hare, our work assessment chairman). See page 2 of this newsletter for work hour info!
FOR MEMBERS WHO ARE NOT AVAILABLE ON OPENING DAY…..
REGISTRATION (forms, dues, keys): If you are unable to pick up your keys on opening day, please FIRST be sure you have signed up for your 2021 work hours. If you have not done so, contact Dean Hare at 248.363.6198 or at hared152@comcast.net. Once you have signed up for your hours, Dean will contact Jo Anne Clark, Bayside Beach treasurer, to confirm your work hour commitment. Then, you may contact Jo Anne, AFTER our May 1 st opening date, Monday through Friday between 5PM and 7PM to arrange key pick-up. Please call before stopping by her home. Work Hours and Assessment
Per the Bayside Beach Rules and By-Laws, each membership is responsible for a minimum of six (6) work hours of service to Bayside Beach each year. Failure to comply will result in a financial assessment equal to one year’s dues. (If a portion of a membership’s work hours is performed, then the financial assessment will be pro-rated.) Fortunately, there are plenty of opportunities for a member to serve his/her work hours. It is the member’s responsibility to report his/her work hours to Bayside Beach’s work chairperson, Dean Hare. This year’s 4th of July party is scheduled for Saturday, July 3. If you are interested in helping in organizing this party, please contact Dean Hare at 248.363.6198 or hared152@comcast.net This party is subject to cancellation due to COVID-19.

Beach Party Rules
Private parties are at the host’s/guests’ risk (with consideration for COVID-19 restrictions).
- If you are hosting a party for 25 or more guests, a party application must be filled out and filed no later than 10 days prior to the party.
- A limit has been set at 3 parties per day OR 100 total guests per day. (Pending COVID-19 restrictions!)
- You are responsible for your guests’ behavior and for ensuring all beach rules are followed.
- You must limit your space under the pavilion to 2 picnic tables.
- The gates must be LOCKED at all times. Restroom doors must stay closed.
- Due to limited parking, please car pool or shuttle your guests.
- NO GLASS or PETS are allowed.
- Only 1 watercraft is allowed per membership (includes guests).
- You are responsible for cleaning up after your party. This includes the restrooms!
- Clean-up includes lugging all trash to the dumpster by the storage shed.
- Members must always be present with their guests.
- A fully refundable deposit of $150.00 is required with your party application.
