The meeting will include nominations for officers and board members to establish this year\u2019s election slate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Key Pick-up Procedure<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you have not yet signed up for your 2019 work hours, paid your 2019 Bayside Beach Association dues and have not picked up your gate key(s), please contact Dean Hare, our beach work assessment chairman, to initiate the process by signing up for work hours. His phone number is (248) 363-6198. His e-mail address is <a href=\"mailto:hared152@comcast.net\">hared152@comcast.net<\/a>&nbsp; <strong>NOTE: Jo Anne Clark will issue keys to members, once she has verified work hour sign-up by the member(s).<\/strong> Jo Anne\u2019s phone number is (248) 363 &#8211; 5564.&nbsp; Please call before stopping by her home. Call between 5PM and 7PM, Monday through Friday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Party Applications Must Be Posted!<\/em><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are hosting a large party at Bayside Beach (25 guests or more), then you must contact Herb Wilson at (248) 671-6028 to apply for a party permit. Along with a $150.00 fully refundable party deposit, a party application must be filled out and a copy of such application must be posted by the host at the pavilion on the day of the party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Protecting Our Precious Resource! <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Bayside Beach is a gem for all association members to enjoy.&nbsp; With privileges, come responsibilities. One such responsibility is to follow established rules, including state and federal laws.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NEW BOAT RAMP<\/strong>: Our boat ramp has undergone an amazing renovation.&nbsp; In order to protect the investment made in\nupgrading the boat ramp, it is imperative that boaters use the ramp properly. &nbsp;(Improper usage of the boat ramp may damage\nthe integrity of the ramp or may damage the boats being loaded or unloaded.) <strong>No power loading or power unloading is\npermitted EVER!<\/strong> Surveillance cameras are going to be installed to provide\nthe ability to determine if misuse of the boat ramp is occurring. Members who\nmisuse the ramp will be fined the first time and will lose their beach\nmembership upon further infraction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>NEW LAW: <\/strong>Michigan\u2019s Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Act has been amended with changes for boaters and anglers that took effect March 21, 2019. The changes are intended to strengthen protection for Michigan waterways against the introduction and spread of aquatic invasive species.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>For Boaters<\/strong> &#8211; Prior to the amendment, the law only required that a person not place watercraft or trailers in the waters of Michigan if an aquatic plant was attached.&nbsp; The new changes require all the following prior to transporting any watercraft over land: (1) <strong>Remove ALL drain plugs<\/strong>. (2) <strong>Drain all water <\/strong>from any live wells and bilges. (3) Ensure that the watercraft, trailer and any conveyance used to transport the watercraft or trailer are<strong> free of aquatic organisms, including plants.<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>For Anglers<\/strong> \u2013 (1) A person<strong> shall not release baitfish in any waters of this state.<\/strong> (2)<strong>A person who catches fish other than baitfish in the lake, stream, Great Lake, or connecting waterway shall only release the fish in that body of water where the fish was caught. Unused baitfish should only be disposed of on land.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Special Consideration<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>GOLF CART TRAFFIC<\/em><\/strong><br>Please park golf carts in the designated areas by the south and north parking lots.&nbsp; Also, please exercise caution when driving in the beach park. When it is particularly busy, please completely avoid driving on the concrete path or on the sand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>CONCRETE PATH<\/em><\/strong><br>Please do not place picnic tables on the concrete path. Also, please do not park golf carts, etc. on the concrete path.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>NO GLASS ALLOWED AT THE BEACH!<\/em><\/strong><br>For everyone\u2019s safety, please do not bring\/use glass of any kind at the beach.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>July 4<sup>th<\/sup> Festivities <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This year\u2019s July 4<sup>th<\/sup>\nparty is scheduled for Saturday, June 29. &nbsp;Every year, Bayside Beach families enjoy the\nmany activities offered throughout the day\/night that help us celebrate our\nnation\u2019s birthday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Kids\u2019 activities will\nbegin at noon<em>.<\/em> These activities\ninclude games, a bounce house and a water slide.Raffle tickets will be sold throughout the day with the raffle\ncommencing at 6PM. Evening entertainment will begin at 7PM. <strong>PLEASE REMEMBER: NO GLASS at the BEACH!<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Many thanks to Bobbie\nSue Young who has skillfully planned our July 4<sup>th<\/sup> festivities in the\npast and has volunteered to do so again this year. <strong>If you would like to help\nBobbie Sue, contact her at (517) 304-8505.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><em>Fireworks \u2013 Info and\nDonations<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Fireworks 2019<\/strong>:&nbsp; This year\u2019s Upper Straits Lake fireworks are\nscheduled for Saturday, July 6<sup>th<\/sup> starting at 10PM. Join your\nneighbors in witnessing this spectacular event. The rain date is Sunday, July 7<sup>th<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Consider donating<\/strong> to help defray the\ncost for our firework display.
